Once upon a time the Knights of the LightWave 9.2 Beta team sat around the table and told of wonders far in the distant future that had fallen on their doorsteps. They convened and decided to show these wonders to the world, so that everyone could enjoy and benefit from them. Together they made the LightWave 9.2 community features demo movie. For many weeks numerous entries were considered, rejected and revised. Ingredients were added and weighed. Strange new algorithms from deep in the minds of brilliant people were added to give us new photo realistic motion blurring and depth of field, a brand new anti-aliasing engine, blazingly fast GI and caching, energy-conserving materials, new modelling tools, workflow enhancements and a huge step forward in terms of bug fixes and stability. After this period shrouded in the dust of magic potions and motion blurring the demo video emerged, a token of the new era for LightWave users, where direct community participation has helped to shape the tool that we love to use and love to be a part of its large and ever-growing supportive and creative community.

We've had a blast making this little film, we made it just for fun, we made it to say to NewTek that we appreciate the direction the team has taken LightWave, that we appreciate the new level of openness, communication and constructive collaboration with the users. All of that in a free upgrade, and we had to do something. Instead of a cake, we baked a movie. Thanks NewTek, and everyone involved. - Exception 09:13, 27 April 2007
