A Keyframe or Key is a frame which has a value set at it. In traditional animation, the main artists would only draw the main poses of an animation, the Keys, and the rest of the frames would be drawn by in-betweeners. In computer animation, the computer figures out the tween frames, leaving the artist to just set the keys.
