Welcome to LightWiki's home at PresetCentral, with many thanks to Ben Haines. LightWiki is a site devoted to learning all there is to know about LightWave 3D. LightWave 3D is a complex 3D graphics package created by NewTek, Inc. in the late 1980s that has been used for award-winning computer graphics in film, television, games, print and ooh just about any use you can think of (the original Mac OS X icons? Done in LightWave. All the modeling for Burnout 3? Done in LightWave. The realtime 3D showed off by Microsoft at the British Library for the launch of Windows Vista? All LightWave...

PS. the recent outage was caused by the domain failing and needed renewal including getting it out of a status called 'redemption'. This cost $176. Several people have suggested I add Adsense ads or something similar to the site to try and make some money that way to prevent something similar happening in future but I'd really rather not. If you'd like to help anyway, you can click on the Donate link in the menu on the left but LightWiki is not about making money. It's about giving something back to the LightWave community.

Please read this before you open an account:
Out of every twenty requests I receive asking for a new account only three are from real people, and one of those is usually not giving an email address (I might recognise the nick). Because of this, I have not okayed any account that doesn't have an accessible email address. If you are worried about spam from LightWiki or that I will sell your email address to an unscrupulous scammer offering Viagra and the like, nothing could be further from the truth - the email address you put in the form won't be used. The fact that there is a usable email address merely indicates that the person seeking an account on here is real and not just a bot. If you haven't given an email address and have wondered just how lazy I am, that I don't approve your account, that's the reason.
