This page will deal with the niceties of using the photoreal motion blur new to LightWave 9.2. Right now, some pointers:
| PRMBlur usage checklist
|
- Photoreal motion blur (PRMBlur) only works with the new cameras, not with the Classic camera;
- PRMBlur works forwards in time. The previous motion blur worked backwards in case you are rendering a sequence and the motion blur isn't where you'd thought it would be. You can still emulate the older way of doing things by setting the motion blur amount to be a negative number;
- There's nothing to say you have to stick to maximums of -100 - 100%. If you'd like to leave Akira-style light trails, try upping the motion blur amount to 500% for a five frame trail, or even more, but be aware that the sampling is taken over the whole amount, so to avoid "crunchy" looking motion blur, make sure your motion blur passes are sufficient;
- Photoreal motion blur shows up in reflections, refractions and through transparency
- You can preview motion blur/depth of field in your OpenGL viewport as shown here
